We don’t make any money. In fact if anything we lose money in hosting costs. Buts that’s OK with us!

We built this website as a public service because we were we were fed up with all the obviously fake reviews we came across when choosing our own Exchange provider.

If you haven’t noticed already, there are:

  • NO paid ads
  • NO Google™ ads
  • NO provider ads
  • NO ADS PERIOD!

Just down and dirty user reviews, in all their uncensored glory!

Unlike other review websites Exchange Providers can't pay us for preferred rankings and they will never be able to.

Cost is the major reason why hosted Exchange is rapidly growing in popularity in businesses of 1 employee all the way up to 2000 employees.

Upfront costs are several thousand dollars for even the most basic in-house Exchange setup, did we also mention that the hardware alone can cost tens of thousands of dollars!

Recurring costs for in-house Exchange are also very high. Ccompanies either need to hire IT staff or pay consultants to fix each and every problem, which believe us, occur ALL the time.

Keep it simple, save money and live worry free with Hosted Exchange - we did mention you saves huge sums of money right? - oh yea, we did.

Savings on average run at 50-85%. Savings similar to this are also achievable when using a Hosted CRM Provider.

This isn't as hard as it seems, HOWEVER it takes time and is very boring. Nonetheless it must be done - here is what we do:

Automated methods:

  • Track IP addresses. (duh)
  • Track post density from unique IP addresses.
  • Analyze keyword usage - fake reviews from company employees are often packed with keywords because they know this helps with SEO, these reviews are obvious and deleted immediately.
  • Track repeat review verbiage across our many review sites.
  • Track post timing - most companies monitor our websites regularly to look out for negative Hosted Exchange reviews. The second they notice a negative Hosted Exchange review they immediately counter with a positive review. This is very easy to spot.
  • User rated helpfulness - all our readers have the ability to rate every individual Hosted Exchange review as helpful, or not helpful. Once a Hosted Exchange review is unamiously voted as not helpful the community has spoken. We either remove the Hosted Exchange review all together, or push it to the bottom of the list.

Manual Methods - We read EVERY Hosted Exchange review, yes we actually do this. It really sucks, but here is why it's necessary:

  • Only a human can pick out overly negative Hosted Exchange reviews done by a companies competitors in an effort to slander the reputation of their competition.
  • Only a human can pick out overly positive Hosted Exchange reviews done by a companies employees. Lets face it, most reviews are negative because people only take the time to write them when they are really pissed. However positive Hosted Exchange reviews, although less frequent, also exists. BUT have a much higher probability of being fake. It takes the human intellect to pick these out.
  • Experience - after you have read over 10,000 reviews, picking out fake reviews becomes second nature. We do it without even thinking about it.

WHY ARE YOU TELLING US ALL THIS??? - Won't people just read this and figure out how to circumvent your techniques?

Lets just say we left out a few very significant processes from the list. Processes we are confident will still flag fake Hosted Exchange reviews even if all above listed methods fail.

YES! Our validation methods are that good! And as such are patent pending and top secret!

Outlook Web Access (OWA) provides basic email functionality through a web interface, allowing you to read your email from anywhere in the world without. In the newest OWA on Exchange server 2007 the interface is almost identical to Outlook 2007. (very cool!) it also supports drag and drop functionality.

In OWA, you can send and receive messages and attachments, create folders and organize messages within the folders, view calendar appointments and contacts, look up contacts, and set up the Out of Office Assistant.

In Microsoft Outlook (connected to Exchange), a public folder is a folder created to share information with others - like emails, contacts, tasks, or documents in general.

The owner of a public folder can set permissions so that only a select group of users have access to the folder (can add/edit/delete items), or the folder can be made available to everyone on the Exchange Server.

Public folders in Outlook can contain contacts, calendar items, messages, journal entries, or Outlook Forms.

You could always manually backup your .PST file ever so often, but this is a pain in the you know what!

Let your Hosted Exchange Provider do this for you on the server side of things. Make sure they have an active disaster recovery plan and regularly test procedures.

Normally this is where we say "trust us, making sure you're Hosted Exchange Provider has a rock solid disaster recovery plan in place is CRITICAL! Unless of course you enjoy losing your data..." - but hey don't take our word for it, read some user reviews and you will understand how bad this can be.

Here are some good questions to ask:

  • Do you have a disaster recovery plan in place? Can you explain it for me?
(if they cant explain it in detail on the spot - hang up!)
  • How often do you backup to disk?
  • How often do you backup to tape?
  • How often do you do incremental backups?
  • How often do you do full backups?
  • Do you store your tape media offsite?
  • Are you SAS certified? SAS type II certified?
  • How fast can you restore my data after a "disaster"?
  • etc.

The good news:

Yes, Hosted Exchange will work on ALL Blackberry devices - No matter the carrier, type of Blackberry or contract - you're Blackberry will support Hosted Exchange.

The bad news:

Being the money sucking machines that they are, most cell carriers will charge an additional monthly fee for Blackberry support. Their reasoning behind this is since Blackberrys sync data in realtime - they use more bandwidth - and as with any other cell phone service, the more you use of something, the more money they want you to pay. Plans typically range from $15/mo. for limited usage, all the way up to $45/mo. for unlimited usage.

The even worse news:

RIM, the parent company of Blackberry wants their cut also. They charge Hosted Exchange Providers a monthly fee just to offer this wireless sync service to their clients. Subsequently the Hosted Exchange Companies pass this cost along to you. Expect to pay about $10/mo./device for this service. (We know, this sucks)

Yes, Hosted Exchange will work an iPhone - BUT only the generation 2 iPhone. The original iPhone did NOT support Exchange. Of course once Apple learned the market share they were missing out on, they quickly added Exchange support to the Gen 2 iPhone.

The ability to sync an iPhone is a default feature of Exchange Server called ActiveSync, many hosting companies will try to charge for this feature - DON'T be fooled.

This feature should always be included at NO extra change.
