01/06/12Pros:
Most important emails got through. Wasn't down often.
Cons:
Spam filtering was literally awful. MANY spam emails made it through, no matter what. MANY good emails were tagged as false positives and had to be retrieved from quarantine.
Support was worse than awful. Talking to them was a total waste of time.
Other Thoughts:
When things went wrong, the support people were unbelievably stupid. It's hard to believe they are in the US.
The last straw was talking to the "manager" who after having to show them exactly what wasn't working, I found that he didn't bother to look at the problem - he just made it look like he was doing something. Turns out they never even tried to fix the problem.
Switched to Rackspace Hosted Exchange, which works great. A little more expensive, but I have NONE of the constant problems of Appriver. And their spam filtering is MUCH better, with very few false positives.
Getting rid of Appriver was like taking a huge load off of me. I could go back to taking care of business instead of constantly messing these jerks - who don't care about their customers at all.

07/23/10Pros:
The setup was easy and support was excellent. They were available weekends and after hours. It was very easy and painless.
Cons:
I really don't have any cons, maybe having to export the data, but this wasn't AppRiver's fault. More a MS issue.

05/16/10Pros:
None that I can think of...
Cons:
AppRiver sucks. Their support staff read your e-mails and they also give your e-mail addresses to Rackspace to sell to spammers.

08/06/09Pros:
UNLIMITED MAILBOX STORAGE for free! Easy client setup, full featured Exchange, Responsive Technical Support, very reliable service! Activesync for Exchange (Windows Cell Phones & iPhone) included FREE OF CHARGE, minimal charge for BlackBerry.
Cons:
Billing department takes a while to get an invoice to you. They don't cut your service off, just makes me worry I will be late paying when they are late getting the invoice out to me. Has not been a problem yet.
Other Thoughts:
Plan carefully for the amount of time it will take to upload local mailbox storage over your Internet Connection... and remember, the more users you have at a single location, the longer it will take to upload your initial mailbox storage... and you cannot send mail until the sync is complete! But this is the same with any hosted Exchange provider.
